Stacey-Ann & Anthony An untraditional engagement!

Stacy-Ann and Anthony’s untraditional engagement experience started when they set a date for their wedding knowing they wouldn’t have an engagement ring at the time.

“We had discussed marriage many times but seriously never discussed it until after returning from my birthday trip to Las Vegas, Nevada,” Stacy-Ann explains. “The entire time we were there, we kept joking and saying, ‘We should just get married while we are here’ but of course we never did. We wanted our close friends and family with us when we said our vows.”

After the trip, the marriage discussion came up again and Stacy-Ann says they both wanted to set a date for May 28, 2011. They didn’t have a ring at the time they got engaged, but they did plan to get one later.

“In our eyes, the ring (while important) is only an outward symbol of our promise. What really matters is the commitment and the promise of true love to each other,” she says.

“I did make him promise, however, that he would have to follow up with a grand proposal,” Stacy-Ann recalls with a smile.

And Anthony, delivered two months later, proposing in the privacy of their home with candlelight, roses, dinner and a love song!
