If pictures speak a thousand words, then Meghan and Matt’s wedding reflected their down-to-earth roots and playful nature.

The Proposal
“All dressed up, Matt and I went to dinner at Turtle Jacks. I was a little suspicious that something might happen that night (maybe a ring) but Matt never mentioned anything during dinner, making it a little awkward,” Meghan says.

After dinner, Matt paid the bill and they both went back to Matt’s apartment. Meghan wanted to change into something more comfortable and went to use the washroom. Matt however, kept insisting she sit down and not worry about changing.

Meghan says, “I thought, he had gas or something and needed to use the washroom, that’s why he didn’t want me to use it.”

“So, I sat down on the couch. That’s when he got down on one knee and popped the question with the engagement ring in his hand. I was so excited I said ‘yes’ and then we called everyone we knew to tell them our wonderful news.”

The Wedding
Meghan and Matt had an outdoor ceremony and a tent reception at her parent’s farm on a beautiful day in September. Rachel Clingen, their wedding planner, creatively transformed the farm into an autumn oasis for their special day. Bales of hay, floral apple arrangements in crimson reds and tall black candelabra made Meghan and Matt’s magical moment picture-perfect.

The Wedding Attire
Meghan wore a white strapless fit-and-flare gown with an asymmetric dropped waist and tone-on-tone beading across the bodice. The fitted gown had a lace-up back and a flared skirt accentuated with a crinoline. Meghan’s birdcage veil framed her face perfectly and her ruby ‘flip flop’ sandals showcased her playful down-to-earth side.
Matt wore a Calvin Klein pinstriped suit with a white shirt and ruby-red tie.
The bridesmaids wore garnet cocktail dresses from Le Chateau. The A-line dress featured a gathered bodice and halter neckline.

Most Memorable Moment
“Walking down the aisle to my husband and seeing the look of love in his eyes,” says Meghan.
“My second most memorable moment was when the calf escaped from the barn and came running into the ceremony.”

Wedding Advice
“It’s your day, make it the best day possible and ignore everyone who is trying to stand in the way of that,” Meghan says.
