How They Met

Sarah met Andrew at work after co-workers told her how perfect they would be for each other, even though they'd never met or seen one another. After a group blind date, the two hit it off and were soon coined the celebrity couple nickname 'Sandrew.'”

The Proposal
Sarah and Andrew headed to their favourite weekend getaway spot, New York’s Finger Lakes Wine Region. After a full day of wine tasting and a nice dinner, the two headed back to their hotel room. "I touched up my makeup in the bathroom and when I came out Andrew sat me down on the bed and surprised me by getting down on one knee. His sweet words brought tears to my eyes!"

The Wedding Day
Sarah and Andrew’s wedding theme was simple elegance created with aqua and pastel yellows. Sarah’s bouquet included pale yellow and cream roses.

The bride and groom left the church in his parent’s aqua coloured 2002 Ford Thunderbird Convertible and their Maid of Honour and Best Man left in a matching pale yellow Thunderbird Convertible.

Their wedding favours were Ice Wine, which they bottled and decorated themselves with labels, aqua ribbon and yellow thank you tags.

The venue, which had a gorgeous patio overlooking the lake and golf course, was where they set up their receiving line, h’ordeuvres and signature drink Blue Hawaiian punch.

The Décor
Aqua paper lanterns and mini-lights added elegance to the outdoor décor. On the patio tables, they placed small cards named, “Conversation Starters” with funny questions about the bride and groom.

The centrepieces were simple square vases filled with blue beads and a single yellow rose. Aqua taffeta table runners accented the centerpieces and were surrounded by candles and rose petals.

Sarah designed their artificial cake, which was all white fondant decorated with aqua ribbon and yellow paper roses.

Wedding Attire
Sarah wore a beautiful a-line gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline that was delicately beaded. The bodice was asymmetrically draped and the skirt had a side bustle and chapel train. Her veil was adorned with Swarovski crystals. Her maids looked ethereal in blue chiffon strapless gowns that featured a beaded empire waistline with a hi-lo hemline.

The groom and his groomsmen wore tuxedos by Calvin Klein. The men’s attire was accented with a diagonal striped pattern seen in their ties and vests.

Memorable Moments
"Seeing Sarah walk down the aisle. Her beauty was breathtaking; looking into her eyes I saw so much emotion and love," Andrew says.

Adds Sarah: “Seeing Andrew at the front of the church so nervous and vulnerable, awaiting my arrival.”

Wedding Advice
“Remember it’s your day so make it what both of you want it to be,” Sarah says. “Personalize it to make it your own and remember people are there to celebrate you. If budget is an issue, try to do things yourself (DIY Bride) to save some money; it really shows off your creative side and it sends a personal message to your guests."
