Our Favourite Dresses from the 2012 Collection

What is your favourite 2012 wedding dress?

Designers took the traditional styles of the past and added an element of architectural structure to create modern silhouettes for bride’s this season. Large romantic bows, textural treatments and one-shoulder necklines in pretty palettes; gowns took on an edgy interpretation of traditional styles.

Draped ball gowns and ultra feminine trumpet silhouettes donned the runway. Fingertip veils were customized to match the gown. Shredded caplets and ruffled boleros were the finishing touch to these ultra chic ensembles.

Sleeves were definitely back; deep plunging V-necks and illusion lace necklines were a contemporary twist to the strapless gown we have seen so much of in previous years.

Textural manipulation of fabrics ran rampant as designers created dresses that looked like a frothy meringue. Floral embellishments, cascading ruffles and a peek-a-boo underlay added a 3-dimensional look to the gowns.

For us, it was impossible to pick a favourite gown, instead we selected an assortment of our favourites this season – hope you enjoy these lovelies as much as we have.
