Foods that Keep your Skin Glowing

Munch on this: Five foods you should be eating to get your skin looking beautiful. Plus, what foods to avoid before your wedding day.

Glowing Skin: What to Eat

We all want flawless skin for our wedding photos, and sure make-up can do the trick, but if you really want that natural glow, look no further than your fridge.

The food we consume has a greater impact on the overall health of our skin than any cleanser, lotion or foundation. So the next time you’re at the grocery store, look for these healthy food choices that’ll keep your skin looking radiant.

Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which aids in the development of healthy skin cells. Carrots are also a great source of Vitamin C, which helps in the development of collagen that keeps skin looking fresh.

Salmon contains omega-3 fatty acids, which improves skin by decreasing the occurrence of clogged pores and reduces skin dryness. These fatty acids keep the skin hydrated and younger looking.

Strawberries, cranberries, blueberries and raspberries contain ellagic acid, which is an antioxidant that can aid in wrinkle prevention and can defend sun-damage.

Green Tea is high in polyphenols – compounds that eliminate cancer-causing free radicals. Green Tea is rich in antioxidants, which reduces the damage of overexposure to UV light, which can reduce the risk of skin cancer.

Water is the most powerful substance in the battle against wrinkles. Water hydrates your cells and moves toxins out of the body.

Foods to Avoid
Avoid foods that can trigger skin reactions (acne) – sugar, fried foods, saturated fats – they trap bacteria and oil underneath the skin.
