How They Met
Allison and Jazel’s “just friends” status grew into something much more after her sister and his best friend tied the knot more than two years ago. “We really caught each other’s eye at their wedding, and decided to get to know one another better,” she says.

A wise choice.

The Proposal
Jazel went with his parents to pick out the ring three days before Christmas. He was planning to pop the question then, but once the ring was in the house he couldn’t wait.

“We were having a quiet night at home watching TV and snuggling,” Allison says. “I thought he got up to get a drink, but he came back to the TV room and sat in front of me. He started to tell me that he loved me and then he asked, ‘If I were to ask you to marry me would you say yes?’ I said, ‘Of course’.

“Then he pulled the ring out of his back pocket and asked, ‘Will you marry me?’ I started screaming, ‘YES’ so loud that I woke up the kids.”

The Wedding Day
The couple decided to have a destination wedding, so they could celebrate for a whole week and have a vacation with their kids.

“We wanted to have a stress-free wedding, and that’s exactly what it was,” Allison says. “We wanted to keep it tropical so we went with a simple tropical bouquet and the same flowers for our decorations.”

Most Memorable Moment
“Jazel presented my two little girls with necklaces as a commitment to them as their new step-dad.”

Wedding Advice
“A destination wedding is a great idea if you’re looking to have a stress-free wedding,” Allison says. “It worked out to be cheaper than having a wedding at home and we got to party for a whole week with our friends and family.”

Wedding Attire
Allison wore a simple white empire dress from Le Chateau, perfect for the beach. “I wanted to stay cool on the beach. I didn’t want to sweat in a big dress.”

She didn’t have any bridesmaids, instead her two girls were by her side; wearing dresses made by Jazel’s mom.
