Kelly and Scott

Everyone’s love story is special in their own ways. Mine is as well and on July 6th 2013, I will be marrying the only man I have ever imagined life with, Scott Felix. It was a regular school morning and I was following my morning routine. Who knew that this particular morning would change the rest of my life, and it all happened at a school bus stop close to my house. The same people stood at this bus stop every morning, however, on this specific day, there was a new face amongst us. Right when I saw Scott, who happened to be standing next to me, my instant reaction was (being the bubbly soul that I am) to say, “Hi! My name is Kelly!” From that moment on, we were inseparable. You name it, we did it! We could go from being the best of friends, to romantic lovers, to “get out of my face”. The best part of it all is, we never get bored of each other. Last year, Scott gave me the most amazing Christmas gift possible – he proposed to me.

Not only was this the best gift I could have received, but it was during my favourite time of year! It all happened with a call at work where he asked if I could pick him up as his car had broken down. When I picked him up, he randomly asked me to drive to “our spot”. I asked him why we needed to go the bus stop (“our spot”) that was in in the middle of nowhere. He insisted. After parking the car, we began to walk.

At this point, the snow was falling hard – it was definitely a winter wonderland! As we approached the spot we first met, he held me close and whispered softly in my ear, “I don’t want to be your boyfriend”. As he got on one knee, Scott finished the sentence off by saying, “I want to be your husband. Will you marry me?” I was in shock and could not stop crying. Obviously I said yes and gave him the biggest hug ever!!!!!! Every woman dreams of her prince charming but Scott is more than my prince; He is my soul mate, someone I feel I have travelled from life to life with. He makes me feel amazing every day! We have been through life’s journeys together; We have cried together, laughed together, and just made the biggest decision of our lives together. I really want to win this competition, but even if I do not, I am still walking away with the biggest win in life: My fiancé, Scott.
