Stan asked Melissa to sit down, and look at Charlotte, their Pomeranian.

“I had no idea what the problem was, but a thousand things ran through my head, like "What's wrong with her??"  ....read Melissa and Stan's full proposal story

Decor
For the wedding decor, Melissa and Stan had discussed a number of styles, but they knew it had to be something in tune with nature and have a fun style to it.

“Antoinette, from Élan-Cachet Event Management, expertly called this ‘Simplistic Nature’ meets ‘Classical Elegance’,” Melissa says. “The main colour was a deep purple, with accents of spring green.”

Memorable Moment
“There are so many memorable moments,” Melissa says, “it really was the best day of my life.”

“But if I had to pick one, I truly enjoyed our first dance. We worked so hard practising it; and it never was perfect in our rehearsals but somehow on the wedding day the crowd melted away and it was just Stan and I in our own world that was my favourite memory of our day.”

Stan most memorable moment was Melissa's entrance to the ceremony; she was riding towards him in a carriage pulled by two huge white horses.

“She steps out of the carriage and walks along the path to the top of the aisle where she pauses before walking down the steps," he says."Seeing her at the top of the aisle in her dress for the first time, with the sun shining and her smiling is a moment I will never forget,” Stan reminisces.

Wedding Advice
“The best advice I received was from a co-worker who saw me getting more and more tense as the wedding day approached,” says Melissa.

“She said, ‘No matter what, rain or shine when you wake up that morning just decide that this is going to be a wonderful day’ and that’s exactly what I did, and it truly was the most wonderful day of my life!”

Stan suggests the groom take some of the responsibility of helping to choose things for the wedding day because he feels it’s their day too.

“Giving input for decorations, flowers and music, made seeing it all come together on the day that much better. It made me say ‘Wow’, we came up with all this great stuff and the day is amazing,” he says.
