Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello Talk Magic Mike and Stripping with TheRingBearer.caWhat they had to do to get their bodies in prime shape for the movie.Written by Vanessa S | Posted June 22, 2012 ![]() So you want a little bit of sexy time at your bachelorette party? Why not see Channing Tatum and a hot steamy cast of male strippers on the big screen. Yes, we at TheRingbearer.ca are talking about one film that every women will be throwing their money at - we’re talking about Magic Mike. The film follows the life of a stripper named Mike who changes his path after helping a kid named Adam (Alex Pettyfer) to become a male stripper. Add some romance, drama, parties, drugs and a hot cast—you get a film that will definitely satisfy your needs. TheRingBearer.ca had a chance to interview Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello about the film. Male strippers are in great shape, what did the cast do to stay in shape? Joe: A lot of weights and grinding became my workout. It’s interesting because in True Blood I know when the shirtless scenes are coming about three weeks prior, so there is a way to peak for that day. When you’re shooting the male stripper scenes, and your dancing two weeks at a time, your peak is everyday. That became kind of crazy. We would be lifting weights on set in the parking lot during and after filming. Channing: At one point we just workout in the parking lot before heading on stage in our American thongs. We know that you were a male stripper, how did it feel doing a film based on it and how did your wife feel? Channing: You just had to go out and do it—I remember before I came out on stage, I thought this was a terrible idea; why did I want to make this movie—but it was something completely new for me. On the other hand, my wife, she thinks its hilarious-she kind of rubs in the fact that she married a stripper. What advice can you give to men who don’t want to see the film with their significant others? Channing: All my boys who weren’t strippers would come to the shows because they would hit on the girls after the shows. They knew they were already primed and ready to rock. Joe: You know people say women are going to see it and gay men as well, but what about the straight guys? If you were a smart, savvy, straight man, go see it on a Friday or Saturday night—and hang out in the lobby afterwards and maybe wear a firefighter shirt—just do it. Channing: and they will be all warmed up and ready to go, better be ready because you may go to places you’ve never been before. So Ladies—begging for more about the film?
