Tipping

Postby Ask Mama » November 5th, 2009, 2:05 pm

I'm trying to calculate how much I should tip my wedding vendors. Please help...when should i tip and how much?

- Jenna B.

I must be old school but i don't ever remember tipping my vendors...What exactly do you mean vendors? I didn't tip the dress shop...photographer...etc.

Monetary Only in Invitations - Is it Acceptable?

Postby Ask Mama » November 5th, 2009, 2:17 pm

Is it acceptable to write "Monetary Only" on your invitation?

- Erin Q.

Each culture has its own customs...but I believe in 2009 it's absolutely acceptable and if anyone takes offence to it they can bring a gift...

Big Family...Little Budget

Postby Ask Mama » November 5th, 2009, 2:17 pm

My fiance and i have decided to scale back our wedding party to save money, but I have a big family and want to make them feel included in my wedding. How can I make them feel a part of the wedding without actually having them in the bridal party?

- Jag M.

I think by asking them for money for the wedding will make them feel like family...Just kidding.
I'd ask them for help with the wedding planning and invite them to participate in wedding shopping trips, like looking for flowers and guest gifts...etc

I'd ask them to read something at the ceremony and I'd also have them make sure the reception was organized.
The day of the wedding is really hectic and there are so many little things that family members can do to help you make sure your day is perfect.

This will make them feel included and appreciated. Don't forget to thank them in your speech.
