As our 2012 brides-to-be are
putting the final touches on their Spring and Summer affairs, Trade Sensations
can’t help but take a sneak peak on what the style makers have in store for
those lucky enough to be en route to a 2013 nuptial. The forecast in sight is
drenched in rich colours, runway inspired fashions, and a little bit of flirty
fun.
With April upon us we have officially
welcomed spring and with it came one of fashion’s top bridal events. New York Bridal Fashion Week kicked off
this month debuting some inspired high fashion trends. Peplum skirts have been
all the rage in Hollywood this past year, gracing the hips of stars like Emma
Stone, Scarlett Johansson and most notably Michelle Williams’ Oscar De La Renta
gown which she showed off at this years Academy Awards. This trend has been
adapted to bridal wear by designers like Amsale. Dramatic Peplum skirts have
been added to dresses to create a high fashion look for the daring bride.
Keeping with a daring theme, one
of the most intriguing trends for 2013 is getting in touch with your dark
side. Wedding gown guru Vera Wang
shocked the runways by introducing a new line of bridal that dares to be
dark. Choosing colour palettes
like scarlet, crimson, vermillion and dahlia, she has created an edgy look for
a modern bride who is channeling her inner goddess and is a little on the
mysterious side. Wang herself calls the new line: "Boldly romantic,
charming, protective, grand, seductive, sexy ... A celebration of love." Trade Sensations loves this stunning
crimson gown from Vera Wang’s 2013 collection.
If dramatic crimson and high
fashion peplums aren’t your style, perhaps looking towards another hot 2013
trend might help you - and those toned legs you’ve been working on – to stand
out. 2013 is saying ‘Ladies, let’s see those legs!’ Short dresses are gracing the
runways in fun, flirty, and edgy styles. Short dresses can be worn for the entire
day or are great option to change into during your reception to dance the night
away in, just like this great Ines Di Santo number.
Other gorgeous trends Trade Sensations recommends for 2013
are one-shoulder gowns, whipped frothy skirts, and gowns with crystal and ice
embellishment.
2013 is the year to celebrate the uniqueness of each
individual Bride. As seen on the runways, there truly is an option for every
bride that celebrates who they are and what makes them feel beautiful. The
outlook this year is very promising.
2013 colour scheme trends seem to be saturated as well. Out of the box colour trends seem to
all the rage for 2013, keeping with the theme of a uniquely defined wedding.
One interesting trend on the radar for next year is a rainbow themed wedding. Rainbows
represent luck and happiness, and this trend allows brides to get in touch with
their colourful side and show a little personality and flare. It is important
to remember that this is a tricky theme to pull off without going over the top. The best way to pull it off would be by
choosing rainbow accents like parasols, boutonnières, floral arrangements, or
even sparkly rainbow nail polish to add a little colour to your day without
going overboard. 2013 encourages you to have fun with colour and play around
with your creativity to see what kind of colour scheme you can create.
